AL Report Creator brings AL reports, datasets and layouts into one VS Code workflow. Generate a report, inspect its dataset, change the layout and check the PDF rendered by Business Central. AL, RDLC and Word files remain ordinary project files that you can continue editing with your usual tools.
RDLC is the main format for tabular reports, fixed page layouts, complex grouping, totals and precise printed output. Use Word when end users need to edit layouts themselves, when a document needs flowing text, or when the generated Word document must remain editable after download.
